David Sharpless, Chairman
David has had an almost 30 year career as a business lawyer and as a senior leader in international finance. He was born and raised in Toronto and obtained an LLB from Osgoode Hall Law School. Upon graduation, David joined Blake, Cassels & Graydon, one of Canada's largest and most prestigious law firms. David spent almost 20 years as a partner of Blakes. He was regarded as one of Canada's leading asset finance and securitization lawyers with extensive experience in international financial services, corporate governance, structured finance and mergers and acquisitions.

David left Blakes in 1996 to join Newcourt Credit Group Inc. (subsequently, CIT Group Inc.). as Chairman. As a key member of the executive team, David was responsible for directing and implementing Newcourt's growth from a small private company to the world's second largest public commercial finance company with operations in more than 25 countries and more than 5000 employees. As Chairman, David's duties included responsibility for Newcourt's overall corporate governance and its relationships with its stakeholders and the investment community. David also assumed direct responsibility, as President International, for operating all of Newcourt's businesses outside the United States. These included operations throughout Europe, Latin America and Asia and in Australia/New Zealand. David sits on the Board of Directors or Advisory Board of a number of private and public corporations. He is also active in several Canadian charities and sits on the Board of the Canadian Lease and Finance Association.
 
Kevin Coyne, President & CEO

Kevin Coyne is the Chief Executive Officer of e3 and has over two decades of experience in the software industry. Kevin is responsible for the development and execution of the company's strategic vision and management of e3's growth in the area of enterprise carbon management and carbon accounting. Kevin has been a key executive for angel and institutional investors for privately held software technology investments during their early stages and high growth periods. Most recently, as a top executive at BPS, a developer of governance, risk and compliance (GRC) software for the financial services industry, Kevin built the start up into a recognized GRC platform. During his four-year tenure at BPS, he spearheaded strategic customer acquisitions with Wall Street’s top three investment banks and the world's largest privately held mutual fund company resulting on significant software transactions and an explosive growth of the company. He is a frequent speaker on technology applicability in a wide variety of markets. Kevin holds a BA in English and Communications from Western Michigan University.

 
Julian Moffatt, Vice President, Client Solutions
Julian Moffatt serves as Vice President, Client Solutions at e3 and brings a decade of expertise designing and implementing electronic environmental management systems. Julian has held various product development and client management positions, including VP of Product Development for Blue292 and Product Design Specialist for Caribou Systems. Julian is e3’s principal environmental contact, application designer and system architect. He also plays an integral role in directing future product development, making extensive use of his years as a Pollution Abatement Officer and consultant for Environment Canada and an Environmental Engineer for Petro-Canada. Julian’s key accomplishments during this period include authorship of contaminated site remediation criteria for the Government of Canada (published by the CCME in 1997); the development of water, soil and groundwater testing programs at petroleum refinery sites; and the implementation of environmental auditing programs at industrial facilities throughout Ontario.
 
Katie Altoft
An environmental professional for over 13 years, Katie Altoft brings a breadth of experience in government, industry and not-for-profit settings to her position on e3’s board. During her years with the Canadian Standards Association, Katie led the National Technical Committees and Canadian Advisory Committees that wrote standards on a wide variety of issues such as environmental management systems and auditing, as well as the International Standards Organization (ISO)’s largest technical committee, which developed the ISO 9000 series of standards implemented by over 700,000 companies worldwide. In 1995, she and four partners launched the successful environmental consulting company, Environmental Management Solutions, which conducted over 50 phase 1 and 2 environmental site assessments and remediations, and performed energy audits and environmental compliance checks for federal and provincial agencies.

In her current position as Director of Corporate Relations and Director of Education for Earth Rangers, Katie manages a portfolio of programs that target footprint reduction in audiences from kindergarten through college age, as well as industry professionals. She received her Master of Business Administration in Business and Sustainability from Schulich School of Business, York University, and her Bachelor of Environmental Studies with Joint Honours in Biology, from the University of Waterloo. She is a member of several industry organizations including the Ontario Society for Environmental Education and the Society for Technical Communications.
 
Steve Timyan

Steve Timyan is the newest member of the e3 Board.  A graduate of Michigan State University, Steve has worked with investment securities in Milwaukee, Chigago, and Wester Michigan for 15 years.

Following this, he became the CEO of MESCO.  Over the course of 15 years, Steve led the company to significant growth, servicing customers like General Motors, Ford, Chrysler and the Tier One Suppliers who support them.

In 1999, Steve and his business associate Jeff Cunningham, the former President of Kurtz Steel Company, purchased Diamond Case, LLC, a Michigan based manufacturer of precision linear motion and tooling products which they continue to operate today.

Steve also served as the Chief Turnaround Officer for Models and Tools Inc. (now Models and Tools Acquisition LLC), a Troy Michigan based aerospace tooling company.  Today, Models and Tools has doubled in size, and has become a leading provider of assembly tooling to the global aerospace industry by serving customers such as Lockheed, Boeing, Bell Helicopter and others.
