March 29th, 2011 - Niagara Sustainability Initiative, an organization that is guiding corporations in the Niagara Region toward a more sustainable future, and e3 Solutions Inc., an independent software vendor for environmental and carbon management solutions, have announced their partnership to provide NSI participating businesses with a carbon measurement tool. As a first step in the new partnership, NSI and e3 will be presenting a Carbon 101 Technical Workshop on Tuesday, April 5 at Niagara College’s Glendale Campus. Niagara Sustainability Initiative is making use of e3’s Carbon Accounting Tool (e3CAT) to provide participating organizations in The Carbon Project with a platform to measure and manage their carbon emissions. Through NSI, enterprises in Niagara can access cost-reduced carbon management software, educational forums, technical workshops and best practice sharing; essential items to providing Niagara businesses with the competitive advantage of sustainability. “With e3’s partnership NSI is well prepared to help many organizations in the Niagara region reduce their carbon footprint.” said Niagara Sustainability Initiative’s Executive Director Evan DiValentino. “Niagara Sustainability Initiative provides organizations, both big and small, with an opportunity to capitalize on a changing consumer landscape.” NSI’s Carbon Project is a voluntary program whereby partners voluntarily commit to measuring, managing, and reducing their organizational carbon emissions. The Carbon Project uses the same business model as other successful organizations including Sustainable Silicon Valley and Sustainable Waterloo. Julie Matthews, e3 Solutions’s Vice President, adds that “The efforts of Niagara Sustainability Initiative are critical in moving the Canadian green agenda forward. Their community-focused approach will ensure progress for the Niagara region in the sustainability area.” For further information please contact: Evan DiValentino, Niagara Sustainability Initiative Marie Hanchet, e3 Solutions Inc. |
